Chief George S. Davis died as the result of an accidental gunshot wound received March 24.

Deputy Carlos M. Hall was on duty and alone at the county holding cell in Bluff when an altercation with two intoxicated females occurred.

Detective Marshall N. White was mortally wounded by a teenage escapee from the State Industrial School.

Officer August Lloyd Larsen was murdered in the Moab City Police station.

Sheriff Seth F. Wright became the first Utah police officer to die in an aircraft crash.
