Trooper Randy K. Ingram was killed on Interstate 15 south of Nephi.

Sergeant Doyle R. Thorne lost his life in the crash of a helicopter during a search and rescue operation.

Deputy Michael S. Welcker was killed by a prison parolee wanted for questioning in an assault.

Trooper Dennis L. Lund was murdered by two teenage boys attempting to flee from a gas theft at Thompson Springs in Grand County.

Trooper Joseph S. Brumett, III was killed while investigating a traffic accident in Salt Lake County.

Special Agent Steven W. Harton was killed by an intoxicated motorist.
